One more bit about Finland: A lot of the advertising is partially in English. I think the English is there to make it seem more high-tech and more edgy. Milk doesn't get advertised in English, but computers and electronics, some health stuff, some clothing, and some things like rock bands all include some English in their advertising.

Adult establishments also seemed to make use of English in their signs. I walked past the "Exotic Showroom" every day on the way to the testing venue.

I saw much the same thing in Germany, both the edgy cultural stuff and the "adult" stuff getting some English words and phrases thrown into the text on the display ads.
