A really good session of writing this morning. I've got 5400 words. I've also improved the words quite a bit. My previous count included quite a bit of text that I turned out to be going in the wrong direction. I've fixed all that up, grabbing the bits that were still good and working them into the main body of the text. I've already written the exciting conclusion. What's left is two or three scenes before that, and then a scene after.

After the writing, which I spent most of the morning at, we went to lunch at Olive Garden, and then went to the mall so I could try and buy new socks. Unfortunately, I couldn't find what I was looking for. But then I remembered that we had decided to buy socks at the mall when we thought we might get the shopping in before I went to Toulouse, so that I'd have more available for packing. Now that I'm back from Toulouse, there's no rush--I can just order new socks.

I bought two new sets of DVDs that have just arrived. I bought season one of "Have Gun--Will Travel," which I've only ever seen a few episodes of. The first episode was good. I hadn't realized that it was a half-hour show. You hardly ever see half-hour non-comedies any more. I also got the first season of "Miami Vice," which I was a big fan of back in the mid-80s. The pilot doesn't really make me see what I liked so much about the show, so I hope it's going to pick up a bit.

I don't really have any cold symptoms any more, but I'm still not 100%. Took a 2-hour nap this afternoon, but I'm still tired and ready for bed at 9:00 PM.
