Philip Brewer's Writing Progress

I made some progress on the youth story, finally finishing off the scene I've been working on. It had been a hard scene. My first version had ended with the hero avoiding a confrontation. When I found that version lost all sense of drama and tension, I spotted this scene as where I'd gone wrong, and rewrote it, inserting the confrontation. But it still didn't play right. Now I've taken the confrontation back out of this scene, but the confrontation isn't avoided, it's simply postponed. It'll occur in the next scene. It'll be much more traumatic for my poor hero there. I haven't written that scene yet, but I think I know how it'll go.

The story's at 1990 words.

Struggled with hardware problems at the day job, getting essentially nothing done yesterday or today.
