Please do not pitch articles to me.

Do not send me press releases (or offer me press releases under embargo).

Do not send me links to your great research report on how millennials or seniors are coping with economic trends, your great infographic, or offer to make experts available for an interview.

My writing process is such that pitches are basically never useful to me. I only write articles when something strikes my fancy; in my experience, article pitches never do.

As soon as I identify a piece of email as an article pitch I delete it without responding. (I used to sometimes respond to say, “Not for me,” but that seemed to just encourage people to send more stuff.)
