We went to the farmers market today and got sweet corn which we cooked along with a nice filet of king salmon with a soy-ginger-mustard-honey glaze.

Every winter I look out at our icy, snow-covered patio and think, “Next summer I should spend time out on the patio!” But once a windy, chilly spring turns into a hot muggy summer, I don’t actually get out nearly as often as I might. This morning though, it was warm in the early morning, giving me a chance to get out while there was still lots of shade. (I have since pulled most of the weeds visible in the graveled areas.)

Happy birthday @jackieLbrewer! I have the Riggs session IPL, which sadly is not at all to my taste. Jackie has the Glenkinchie 12 year, which is quite good.

Two years ago, Jackie moved some of our lilies to the back yard. This is especially nice on rainy days, because we can admire them through the patio door without having to go out in the rain.

I caught a cold while visiting my mom and brother last week, which gave me a bit of a cough for a couple days. Out of an abundance of caution I got a Covid-19 test before heading to visit my dad, which came back negative just in time for me to check in for my train.
