I find it very satisfying to sort out a check-register snafu. In this I take after my Grandfather Sharp who, according to family legend, was delighted to do just that from his hospital bed after his first heart attack.

On my way taking Jackie to work, the sun was a great orange ball right at the horizon. On my way coming back home, the sun was a blazing yellow ball just above the horizon.

For eleven years I was a senior writer at Wise Bread, writing about personal finance and frugality.

Before that I spent a quarter-century as a software engineer.
