Everyone needs an area of special competence. Mine is in drawing baths that are not too hot to get into, but warm enough that they’re still warm even after you’ve been in them for a while.

“For both the elderly and people between 40 and 59, severe illness and death were notably lower among the boosted than the merely vaccinated.” — NYT

What about people over 59 but not elderly? How did they do?

Jackie, reading a course title from a catalog: Planning for 2022 with astrology.

Me: I guess that’s as good a way to plan as any really, really bad way.

When someone says “nevertheless,” I like to agree, and add “always the more.”

I’ve parked “one toke over the line,” suggests @jackieLbrewer.

(The grey Honda to the left is also our car. It’s parked way over to the left in a very wide space, making me comfortable with parking the Subaru way to the left in its space.)

I write science fiction and fantasy stories.

I speak Esperanto, and use it to communicate internationally. Esperantistoj, legu mian esperantan hejmpaĝon.

For a while I taught Taiji. My current hobby is HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts, aka sword fighting).

For eleven years I was a senior writer at Wise Bread, writing about personal finance and frugality.

Before that I spent a quarter-century as a software engineer.
