I don’t play around with b&w photography much, but this subject seemed to lend itself to this treatment. (This could qualify for either the “above” or the “contrast” prompt for 📷 #mbfeb )

Scouted tomorrow’s Rattlesnake Master Run for the Prairie 10k race, including Jackie’s volunteer station. Walked the bit where it enters and leaves Yankee Ridge. Just inside the park spotted the tree where the vultures hang out!

There’s a song I half-remember with the line, “I’ve had the patience of a tree,” so that was my first thought when @macgenie proposed “patience” as the first prompt for her convalescent photoblog challenge.

I write science fiction and fantasy stories.

I speak Esperanto, and use it to communicate internationally. Esperantistoj, legu mian esperantan hejmpaĝon.

For a while I taught Taiji. My current hobby is HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts, aka sword fighting).

For eleven years I was a senior writer at Wise Bread, writing about personal finance and frugality.

Before that I spent a quarter-century as a software engineer.
