My workouts these days have tended toward circuits, and each circuit usually ends with a core exercise—often hollow-body holds. When I workout under the sycamore tree, this is what I see during that exercise. 🏋🏻‍♂️ #mbaug

The immature Bald Eagles that I saw last year have grown up! You can’t see it, but I saw an adult Bald Eagle soar over this grassy area, then perch on that tall tree near the center. #mbaug

Taking my coffee out on the patio, watching the dawn light up the trees. A nice change from sitting at the computer.

Last fall Jackie dug up this whole flowerbed and spread the bulbs, corms, and rhizomes out over double the space, so I’m hoping for an even more spectacular display this year than last. #lilycount 1

After days not running because of a sore foot and crappy weather, I got out today—and then back indoors just ahead of the rain. #PolarBeat

There was just a little bit of coffee left in the flask, so I got one of our really little cups to drink it out of. 📷 ☕️

The arboretum doesn’t have a formal geezer hour the way grocery stores do, but we figured it wouldn’t be too crowded early in the morning, which turned out to be correct. I posted 6 other photos, but this one is by far the best.

I write science fiction and fantasy stories.

I speak Esperanto, and use it to communicate internationally. Esperantistoj, legu mian esperantan hejmpaĝon.

For a while I taught Taiji. My current hobby is HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts, aka sword fighting).

For eleven years I was a senior writer at Wise Bread, writing about personal finance and frugality.

Before that I spent a quarter-century as a software engineer.
